We develop and build utility-scale battery storage

We develop and build utility-scale battery energy storage (BESS) in Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Overview

VOLTHAUL Energy develops, builds and operates front-of-meter battery storage projects connected to the grid through their own substation.

What we are looking for

We are looking for sites with a grid connection and land to host a storage project.

Grid connection

Secured connection capacity of at least 5 MW – or projects at ready-to-build (RTB) stage, or PV/wind farms that already hold a grid connection and have room for storage.

Land

2,000 m² (5 MW) to 10,000 m² (50 MW) at or next to the connection point, on a 25-year lease with an extension option. Greenfield sites considered if a connection can be secured.

For PV and wind farm owners

Adding storage to an existing farm creates value without extra effort for the owner.

  • Additional income from storage co-located with the farm.
  • Better use of the existing grid connection.
  • No capital outlay required from the farm owner.
  • We handle everything: permits, grid procedure, construction and operation.

How it works

Five steps from a site to an operating storage project.

  1. 1Site & grid connection
  2. 2Permitszoning, environmental, building
  3. 3Ready-to-build
  4. 4Construction
  5. 5Operation

Countries

We focus on Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
